About the Scholar
Language is my discipline and precision is my standard. Across English, literature, and journalism, those two things have defined every paper I've written and every piece I've edited across 1,200+ assignments.
I hold an MA in English and Journalism from Northwestern University and a BA in Literature from the University of Chicago, where my research focused on narrative structure in American literary realism and the rhetoric of investigative journalism. After graduating I spent five years as a senior editor at a Chicago-based publishing house, taking smart, well-researched writing and making it airtight, tightening arguments, fixing structure, eliminating everything that didn't earn its place on the page.
That editorial background is what separates my work from most academic writers. I don't just understand these subjects, I've spent years professionally evaluating writing in them, which means I know exactly what strong looks like and exactly what's missing when it isn't. Literary analyses, rhetorical critiques, research papers, personal essays, journalism reviews, argumentative essays, every format, every level from AP to graduate seminars.
